Transition Into School

We are fortunate to be part of Shackleton Primary School and work with the staff in the main school. We also work closely with the Foundation Stage Teachers to ensure a seamless transition to the children starting school. The Nursery has adopted most of the school policies and procedures to ensure a consistent approach as children travel through the school.   

Parents/carers have the responsibility to apply to Bedford Borough School Admissions for a place in the Reception class, as places are not guaranteed due to attendance at the Nursery. The main school follows the Admissions criteria set by the Local Authority and spaces are limited to 60 (see the website for the Admission Policy). All paperwork will be distributed to the children in Nursery who are due to start school in the September after their 4th birthday.
